Here is a breakdown of the different lies being put forth about Doug, so you can educate your friends, family, and neighbors with the truth!

Big Tech

FACT:

Doug is not new in the fight against Big Tech.

In April 2019, he introduced the Journalism Competition and Preservation Act, which helps community newspapers and online publications stand up to Big Tech companies like Google and Facebook [1]

Doug also led the charge demanding Apple, Amazon, Facebook, and Google turn over information and documents to show the truth behind their harmful, anti-competitive practices [1, 2, 3, 4]

Cozying Up To Stacey Abrams

FACT:

Doug worked with Stacey Abrams on the H.O.P.E. scholarship bill to save Georgians hundreds of millions of dollars in education costs. Aside from that, he’s fought to oppose her liberal agenda at every opportunity.

In reality, Kelly Loeffler is the one who spent years cozying up to Stacey Abrams.

Kelly used her NBA team, The Atlanta Dream, to honor Abrams while she was running for Governor against Brian Kemp [1], and even hired Abrams as an attorney [2]

The Atlanta Dream also named her as an “inspiring women” in 2014 [3]

Taxes and Spending

FACT:

Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) stated that with the statewide property tax completely eliminated in 2016, HB 1055 represented a net tax reduction for Georgians.

HB 1055 was supported by Governor Perdue and the majority of Georgia Republicans in the state legislature.

Doug supports a Constitutional Amendment to require Congress to pass a balanced budget.

Doug is endorsed by Congressman Andy Biggs, Freedom Caucus Chair & Sponsor of legislation to designate the National Debt as a national security threat.

Doug worked hand-in-hand with President Trump and Republicans in Congress to pass historic tax reform.

Criminal Justice

FACT:

Doug introduced the Prison Reform and Redemption Act back in July 2017. This bill later turned into the First Step Act.

Doug worked hand-in-hand with President Trump, Jared Kushner, and the Trump Administration to author legislation that President Trump later signed into law and recently promoted in a Super Bowl ad.

Doug has NOT introduced the Prison Reform and Redemption Act this Congress, contrary to some reporting. He is not promoting “more drastic jailbreak legislation” as a second step in criminal justice reform.

Doug opposes the H.R. 3795 - a radical, progressive measure proposed by liberals unhappy with the First Step Act.

Doug was the lone House Republican to grill Stacey Abrams when she came to the House Judiciary Committee in June of 2019.

Lobbyists

FACT:

At the exact same time Kelly Loeffler's campaign attacked Doug for (supposedly) being too friendly to lobbyists, she was on a conference call with over 100 lobbyists!

Before being appointed to the Senate, Kelly and her husband, Jeffrey Sprecher, spent over $16 million influencing politicians and elections

In fact, Kelly received a $9 MILLION payout from her former employer, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), when she left to join the Senate; and as a Senator, Kelly is now responsible for overseeing companies in the financial services industry...companies like ICE

Just in case you’re not familiar with ICE, it’s the multi-billion dollar parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and their CEO just happens to be Jeffrey Sprecher, Kelly Loeffler’s husband [1]

Term Limits

FACT:

Doug signed the U.S. Term Limits pledge to co-sponsor and vote for legislation limiting individuals to three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives and two terms in the U.S. Senate. Unlike Kelly, Doug has also vowed to support term limits for career bureaucrats abusing their positions of power in D.C. [1]
